Malik warns against sectarian violence

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has urged people belonging to Shiite and Sunni sects to be careful as ‘enemy’ would try to provoke them, Geo News reported on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons, the minister said neither Sunnis nor Shiite were involved in sectarian violence instead a third force was involved in the violence.
Malik said that killings have started as part of a well planned conspiracy days before the holy month of Muharram. He said ‘sensitive areas’ had been identified but stopped short of giving details in this regard.
Malik said some threats had been received before Muharram and steps were being taken to thwart the same.
The minister said that strict security arrangements would be made during Muharram.
