KARACHI: A meeting held on Friday under the chair of Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, reviewed the security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram, Geo News reported.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah, IG Sindh Fayaz Laghari and Rangers authorities attended the meeting.
The law enforcement agencies apprized the CM on the security plan.
According to resources, CM Sindh directed police and Rangers to ensure foolproof security during Ashura.
“ The people should be protected at every cost. No compromise would be tolerated in this regard”, said CM Qaim.
He also called for the deployment of a large number of police in the red zone.
He said the bomb squads must sift through all the places on the routes to be taken by mourners beforehand.
”Market places, shops, vendors’ stalls, falling on the routes of rallying mourners should thoroughly be searched for any suspected explosive devices,” CM Sindh added.
