Nine killed as violence continues unabated in Karachi


KARACHI: Nine people have been killed in different incidents of violence on Sunday across the metropolis.
A father and son were gunned down by unknown men in Orangi Town.
Police said that the body of a person was found beneath the Banaras Bridge, who was shot dead. Ajmal Khan was gunned down in Metroville area. Another person’s body was found from Sarrafa Bazaar at Mithadar, he was also shot dead.

Earlier, in a firing incident at FC Area in Liaquatabad, one person was killed and five were injured including the murdered Intelligence Bureau Officer Qamar Raza’s son Asad Raza, who later succumbed to his injuries.
Speaking to Geo News, IG Sindh Fayyaz Legahri said the sectarian strife was being increased in the city ahead of Muharram. Commenting on the situation in Soharb Goth, Legahri said there was a clash between two groups there and a heavy contingent of Police and Rangers had been sent to the area.
On Saturday, firing and violence incidents in the city claimed twenty dead including one police officer and one regional office bearer of Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal-Jamaat.
