Kaira sees no possibility of martial law in Pakistan


KHARIAN: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira Thursday ruled out possibility of 'any kind of martial law' in Pakistan and advised Gen (Retd) Aslam Beg to avoid issuing inappropriate statements.
Addressing a gathering as a chief guest on the occasion of mass weddings of 30 couples here, Kaira said 'if Gen Aslam Beg could even deal with face what he did in the past, it would be quite a big deal for him'. Aslam Beg should desist from issuing inappropriate statements, he added.
"Pakistan will not witness any kind of martial law," he believed.
On the occasion of mass wedding, marriages of thirty couples were solemnized in Pabi Sarkar - a village located in the outskirts of Kharian.
The brides were provided dowry of worth Rs150,000 each while other gifts were also presented to the couples.
