ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman, Imran Khan Monday called Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Amir, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman the right hand of President Asif Ali Zardari and accused Maulana of minting money by being part of every government.
Talking to media persons here, the PTI Chief reiterated that Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman who is an ally of Asif Ali Zardari did all he could to prevent his party's peace march to South Waziristan.
He said containers were placed on the route of the rally to bring the peace march to a halt and the parents of the youth who were to participate in the event were warned that there would be bomb blasts in the rally. Pamphlets were also issued against the peace rally in Tank, he continued.
The administration, he maintained, left no stone unturned to stop his rally from entering Waziristan.
The PTI Chief said the rally reached the Waziristan check post long after the scheduled time owing to the hurdles erected in the way of the rally where the army personnel told them it was unsafe to go to Waziristan after dusk.
Coming down hard on Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, Imran Khan accused the former of making money in every government. "Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman enjoyed his time first in Pervez Musharraf's era and now making the most in Zardari-led government," he added.
To a question, he said he had not changed his stance in connection with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's founder leader Altaf Hussain. "I had said whatever I had to before the ScotlandYard," he clarified.
